About
Us... looking into the Trade Magazine
Industry.
Over
the years, many years, I read about and followed the Trade
Magazine Industry with tremendous interest, awe, and
fascination.
I
read about the newcomers to the industry, the old standby's
that didn't make it, some of which by right of publishing
distinction, content and excellence should had, still been
around, however, some "books"as they are called in
the industry, did see better days and thus sadly..
ceased to exist!
I
read about the movers and shakers in the Industry big and small and the back
stabbers, that's right, the backstabbers (as with most companies
and or organizations there is also plenty of drama
going on in the Trade Magazine Industry both in-front and
behind the scenes), and much more.
A
fascinating Industry, where some of the most compelling, and ground breaking histories
are developed, readied for publication to serve the vast array
of businesses as interesting and varied as the many Trade
Publication they cover, businesses that hunger for that
ever so important piece of Industry news and or info that
makes a difference to their particular Industry.
While magazines Trade or otherwise, are serious, big business, We
would like to approach the Trade Magazine Industry from several
different angles aside from the obvious Publisher side, addressing the
"Amorous interest" of Writers for other Writers of the opposite sex and
with similar career paths, a tall order, but one that
We are prepared and ready for!
Our
purpose for being is not only to be a tool for the Industry, (even
though We know that there is an abundance of Magazine
subscription services both on, and off site) but also to
be a Bridge between Publisher and those that contribute substantially yet,
are often given at times but a token recognition for their efforts, and
or the research and thought process that goes into their work... The Writer.
Golden Quill is a humble beginning, and We recognize that, but We
expect the end result would help Bridge the gap between Publishing and
Writing and a few Happy endings,
Stay tune, for this ride may be lots of fun, more to come >>... Ralphy,
publisher.
